Coeur d’Alene Area Economic Development Corporation (CdAEDC)) is the economic development organization for Kootenai County, located in beautiful Coeur d’Alene in North Idaho, where there’s an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities, vibrant downtowns, and a multitude of events and cultural activities year-round. Established in 1987, our mission is to build a healthy economy for the region. Our organization has been instrumental in helping businesses create 7000 jobs, bringing nearly a billion in capital investment to the region.

In this position you will work with industry and community leaders, high school technical training program instructors and students, and North Idaho College’s technical training programs to identify business talent needs. You will also work with local housing organizations to implement housing best practices to address affordability and availability challenges. Our Housing and Talent Coordinator will increase business and industry involvement through one-on-one contact with business owners and workforce/housing development organizations. You’ll learn to use databases and hone your skills in research, reporting, and preparing presentation materials. You’ll help improve people’s lives and make an impact in the community.

We are a small, three-member-team organization with many community partners. You’ll be exposed to every aspect of what we do and become an integral part of our team and the communities we serve. We’ll encourage you to attend conferences, webinars, learning engagements, chamber events, and various leadership opportunities. We’ll also teach you leadership, organizational, and marketing skills.

Gain proficiency in data research, specifically in using the Lightcast database.
-Design and give professional power point presentations, create marketing materials for projects, and lead social media outreach campaigns.
-Develop program materials for industry collaboratives, utilizing templates from the US Chamber’s TPM database.

Meet with industry & community partners to continue the health and construction collaboratives, and establish the manufacturing collaborative, in partnership with the regional manufacturing alliance, chambers, and service providers.

Help business & industry find solutions through discussions, surveys, and reviews of programs across the nation.

Meet with community partners addressing issues from the “workforce perspective” (Employment Services, Idaho Labor, Veterans Associations) to align individual skills with business needs.
-Research successful national housing solutions and determine if it can be adapted for our region.

Update existing reports and surveys to ensure that we’re providing partners with the most recent information regarding the affordability and availability of housing in North Idaho.
